DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Mechanic II is responsible for performing as a lead to staff, diagnosing and repairing major mechanical equipment, and inspecting plants and facilities.Installs, rebuilds, and repairs major and complex machinery and equipment within plant property and at remote facilities and locations. Performs a variety of maintenance activities requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, electronics, welding, small-engine repair, carpentry, and other skilled trades. Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant equipment within plant property, at remote facilities, and other NBC locations. Works with manufacturer’s Operation and Maintenance Manuals daily. Must be able to read and interpret technical material to ensure that appropriate parts are ordered by others to keep equipment running.Serves as a lead to staff (Mechanic Is) to include monitoring work, assisting in training, and providing direction.Operates a variety of tools, machinery, and equipment in the maintenance and repair of plant facilities.Completes all work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties. Assist O&M Support personnel with maintaining and inventory of parts and supplies. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/EXPERIECE: High School Diploma, or G.E.D., and Three years of plant maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess valid driver’s license in good standing. Grade I Wastewater Operator License is required within one year of employment.
